Bob Schecter

Founder and principal officer of DMI Works, Bob has enjoyed a long and strong history in the construction and development industry.

He started his journey in New York City in the late 1960’s, going through a 4-year apprenticeship school while working as a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Union.  One of his first projects was at the now infamous World Trade Center.  After several stages and states, working in Boston, Connecticut, and New Jersey, he finally landed in Florida in 1980.  

By 1983 he was a Licensed Florida Certified General Contractor and started a construction business with a talented staff of nearly 40 workers.  During the 1990’s he gradually moved from construction to development, working his way up to Executive Vice President of Development at one of Miami’s oldest, largest and most prominent construction and development firms.

Over the course of his career, he’s been responsible for the construction and development of millions of square feet of, institutional, residential, educational, commercial and retail projects throughout Florida.

In 2007 Bob formed DMI Works, and he and a small and diligent team are ready to assist you with your development and construction needs, and to make your real estate work.




We understand relationships, and have spent years developing and nurturing the right ones, with the right people, in order to facilitate a project from inception to completion. Having the right players not only makes for a winning team, but a successful development as well.

Attorneys, architects, engineers and the various other professionals that make up the design team need guidance and coordination or their services will often overlap. Redundancy costs time and money. Let us be the central point for information, and take on the aggravation.

The vendors and contractors that make up the construction team can be as numerous and varied as the contracts, budgets, standards and time constraints under which they must work. Let us coordinate their efforts, manage the paperwork, and deal with the problems.
